Overview of Textiles .

Overview of Textiles :

Textiles :                                                                       The word Textile originally applied only to Woven fabrics .But , now generally applied to fibres ,yarns , fabrics or products made by those. According to Textile Institute's Terms and Definitions Glossary textiles means , a general term applied to any manufacture from fibres , filaments or yarns characterized by flexibility , fineness and high ration of length to thickness.

Monomer:                                                                       Monomer is the first steps of Textiles . It 's the little amount of molecules .

Polymer :   Polymers are made by Chemically reacting a lot of little molecules together to make one long molecule , like a string of beads . This little molecules are called monomers and the long molecules are called polymers .

Fibre : Any substance , natural or manufactured , with a high length to width ratio and with suitable characteristics for being processed into fabric ; the smallest component , hair like in nature , that can be separated form a fabric .

Yarn : Yarn is strand of natural or man-made fibres or filaments that have been  twisted or grouped together for use in weaving , knitting , Braiding or other methods of constructing textile fabrics .

Grey Fabric : Fabric is a flexible planar substance constructed from solutions , fibres , yarns or fabrics in any combination . The fabric which comes from the weaving or knitting or others machine  and they are not given any chemical or finishing treatment is called grey fabrics .

Finished fabric : The fabric which given all the chemical /finishing treatment ( Desizing , Scouring ,Bleaching , Mercerizing ,Dyeing ,Printing , Calendering , Sueding  etc ) is called as finished fabrics  .
